TRANSLATIONS OF THE POET COSTA I LLOBERA
Miquel Costa i Llobera was a renowned poet from Mallorca, who wrote in Catalan and Spanish. A first-cousin once-removed of the painter Rafael Llobera, he is on Frank’s family tree.
Frank has translated some of his works. One of his translations, the Sapphic Ode “To Horace,” was longlisted in the prestigious John Dryden Translation Competition prize (2021-22) of the British Comparative Literature Association.
MALLORCA ART BY RAFAEL LLOBERA
As previously noted, Frank comes from a family of artists. His family tree is partially outlined in the bio.
With the aim of sharing the work of his great-grandfather with the wider world, Frank co-founded a site so as to exhibit his paintings, which largely depict beautiful Mallorcan landscapes and the Mediterranean sea.
LITERARY TRANSLATION INTO MULTIPLE LANGUAGES
Frank not only composes poems and short stories in English, Spanish, and Catalan, but also translates works between these languages. Recently, he has delved into translating French and Occitan poems, as well as Japanese haikus.
